Technogym showcases Unica all-in-one home gym at Milan design week installation

Italian wellness brand Technogym has unveiled an installation celebrating its all-in-one Unica home gym system for full-body workouts at Milan design week, shown in this video produced by Dezeen.
Titled Unica Mente, the installation brings together video and photographic works to explore the evolution of the Unica machine.
The Unica home gym was first designed by Technogym founder Nerio Alessandri in 1986 and was originally developed to condense a full workout into a single piece of equipment.
The installation is running as part of Milan design week
Occupying around one and a half square metres, the machine allows users to perform more than 25 exercises targeting all major muscle groups.
Its design incorporates an integrated lever system that enables users to switch between exercises without changing components, while adjustable seating and padded supports are intended to improve comfort and ergonomics.
Technogym said the product helped establish the home wellness category, combining fitness equipment with a design-led approach suited to residential interiors.

The exhibition was curated by digital artist Felice Limosani and features contributions from 40 figures across the worlds of design, sport and culture, reflecting on the impact of the machine over the past four decades.
Each of the participants has also selected a school or charitable organisation to receive a donated Unica machine, as part of a wider initiative intended to promote access to physical activity and create a lasting legacy beyond the exhibition.
According to Technogym, the installation frames wellness as a broader cultural concept, positioning physical exercise as part of a balance between body, mind and lifestyle.
The installation is on show at Technogym Milano on Via Durini, where visitors are invited to explore the relationship between design, technology and personal wellbeing.

Technogym previously presented an exhibition tracing the history of wellness from ancient civilisations to the present day at Milan design week 2025.
The brand has also collaborated with designers on a number of projects, including one that invited 40 international creatives to reinterpret its exercise bench.
Unica Mente runs until 26 April during Milan design week. See our Milan design week 2026 guide on Dezeen Events Guide for information about the many other exhibitions, installations and talks that took place throughout the week.
