Quincy sofa by Antonio Citterio for Flexform
Dezeen Showroom: Italian architect Antonio Citterio rejected rigid angles when designing this curvilinear, enveloping sofa for furniture maker Flexform.
The Quincy sofa features gently rounded corners and plump, down-filled seat cushions, neatly tucked under a continuous backrest – a distinctive detail that is exposed only at the corners.
"Quincy stems from a reflection on the role of the sofa in contemporary spaces," Citterio explained.
"The choice of a curvilinear configuration introduces a more fluid and convivial dimension to the living area, while maintaining a clear architectural structure."
The Quincy seating system comes with a wide range of elements, including a chaise longue, allowing for dynamic configurations designed for sharing, while also interacting naturally with more formal furnishings in the same setting.
Together with Flexform's extensive upholstery options, this allows for a high degree of personalisation.
