Panasonic launches Japanese Microwave designed for modern American kitchens

Promotion: electronics brand Panasonic has launched a minimalist microwave that seeks to bring Japanese design principles into North American homes.
The new Panasonic Japanese Countertop Microwave NN-SF57RM is billed as marrying the understated design and precision engineering that Japan is known for.
It has a streamlined profile with softly rounded contours, a simple interface and a muted graphite finish, helping it visually blend into a contemporary kitchen environment.

"Panasonic believes appliances should enhance the flow of the kitchen, not interrupt it," said Panasonic group manager of kitchen products Ryan Arai.
"With the new Japanese Microwave, we set out to combine traditional Japanese design principles with our proven cooking technology," he continued. "The result is a microwave that brings together simplicity, intelligence and performance in a way that feels distinctly modern."
The Japanese design approach goes beyond aesthetics, influencing how easy the NN-SF57RM is to use.
Its compact footprint and pull-down, oven-style door make the microwave more convenient for smaller kitchens.

Meanwhile, unlike a standard microwave, the interior is flatbed with no visible turntable, increasing cooking capacity and making cleaning simpler.
Other details, such as soft-close door hinges and tactile pushable buttons, help to make the appliance more satisfying to operate.
In addition to the careful design, the brand said the microwave has been reengineered, "delivering the cooking innovation consumers expect from Panasonic".
According to Panasonic, the technology in the Japanese Microwave makes preparing everyday meals simpler and more intuitive.

It is the first product to feature Panasonic's Genius Sensor 2.0, which uses a thermo sensor positioned at 64 different points inside the microwave. This detects food temperature every 0.1 seconds and automatically adjusts cooking time and power accordingly.
This enables the microwave to evenly cook different foods on a plate in the same heating cycle.
As a result, for a quick and easy weeknight dinner, users can combine fresh ingredients in a single bowl and cook them evenly and thoroughly in the Japanese Microwave at the push of a single button.
Panasonic has developed one-bowl recipe options to make the most of the Genius Sensor 2.0, with dishes including chilli and carbonara.
The Japanese Microwave also incorporates Panasonic's patented Inverter Technology, which helps to heat food more evenly, reducing hot and cold spots.

While traditional microwave systems pulse power on and off, Panasonic's Inverter Technology maintains consistent microwave power levels throughout the cooking process.
Panasonic has described the NN-SF57RM Japanese Microwave as "designed for modern American kitchens".
It has been launched by the Osaka-headquartered company's regional subsidiary in New Jersey, the Panasonic Corporation of North America.
"The Japanese Microwave oven marks the latest step in bringing Japanese design and innovation to North American consumers seeking appliances that offer both intelligent function and refined style," said Panasonic.
"Precision-engineered for easier, everyday cooking, the NN-SF57RM Japanese Microwave reflects Panasonic's commitment to purposeful design, intuitive functionality and reliable performance."
