Julian modular sofa system by Vincent Van Duysen for Molteni&C

Dezeen Showroom: Italian furniture company Molteni&C worked with designer Vincent Van Duysen on a roomy modular sofa system decorated with contrasting piping.
Monolithic modules comprise the Julian modular sofa system, which is made inviting by their capaciousness and depth, as well as layered back pillows and cushions, which offer enhanced lumbar support.

"The back cushions support the overall composition, highlighting the double cushioning, where the second, thinner layer adds lightness and an extra sense of embrace, while echoing the contrasting stitching and reinforcing a sense of visual continuity," said Molteni&C.
Its modularity allows it to fit compactly within intimate spaces as well as sprawl out across larger areas, depending on the confines of the space.

"Every detail has been carefully considered, guided by the idea that one moves around this sofa as one would around a sculpture," said Vincent Van Duysen. "The contrasting profile defines its rhythm, captures the gaze, guides it along the surface and reveals subtle construction details."
Users can select from various fabric and leather upholstery options for both the cushions and piping.
