3 Days of Design, Tallinn Architecture Biennale and Design Doha are among the key architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide for 2026.

Also included are annual festivals DesignMarch, NYCxDesign, Dutch Design Week and Design Week Lagos.

DesignTO
23 January to 1 February, Canada

DesignTO is an annual 20-day festival taking place at galleries, institutions, showrooms and public spaces in Toronto.

The festival celebrates a range of disciplines, including art, craft, architecture, fashion and furniture, lighting, landscape, graphic, interior and industrial design.

One of the largest events taking place at the festival is trade show IDS Toronto, which runs alongside a programme of exhibitions, installations, tours, talks, workshops and parties.

DW! Sao Paulo Design Week
5 to 15 March, Brazil

2026 marks the 15th anniversary of São Paulo's annual design week, with over 400 events taking place across eight design districts.

Events include open studios, exhibitions, installations, workshops, fairs, talks and tours, inviting design, architecture, interiors and art professionals and enthusiasts.

Design Shanghai
19 to 22 March, China

This year's Design Shanghai trade show presents products from over 500 exhibitors across four categories: Furniture and Lighting; Kitchen, Bathroom and Systems Design; New Materials and Applications; and Living and Lifestyle.

Alongside the exhibition, the event welcomes more than 40 speakers to lead talks at its Kohler – Design Shanghai Global Design Conference and CMF Conference.

Design Doha
12 April to 30 June, Qatar

Biennial event Design Doha hosts its second iteration in 2026, celebrating design projects from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region, with participating designers from 27 nations.

This year's edition sees the return of the Arab Design Now exhibition, which previously displayed installations, furniture, graphic design and design objects.

Milan design week
20 to 26 April, Italy

As the largest design event each year, Milan design week returns with the Salone del Mobile design fair and fringe events located across the city, collectively known as fuorisalone.

Each year, the festival sees design districts such as Brera Design District, Isola Design District, 5Vie Design Week, Porta Venezia Design District and Tortona Design Week host events.

Melbourne Design Week
14 to 24 May, Australia

The 10th anniversary of Melbourne Design Week takes place this year, returning with talks, tours, workshops and exhibitions over 11 days in Melbourne and Victoria.

Once again, the design week follows the theme "Design the world you want", showcasing projects that benefit the future of the planet and people, focusing on biodiversity, circularity and technology.

NYCxDesign
14 to 20 May, USA

Spanning across New York City's Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens boroughs, the 2026 iteration of NYCxDesign celebrates its 14th anniversary.

One of the largest events during the festival is ICFF, a design fair located at the Javits Center from 17 to 19 May. Other events include exhibitions, talks, tours and parties.

3 Days of Design
10 to 12 June, Denmark

Copenhagen will once again become the home of 3 Days of Design, an annual festival that takes place across the Holmen, Nordhavn, Amerikakaj, Kultur, Rosengård, Kongens Nytorv, Christianshavn and Frederiksstaden districts.

Make This Moment Matter is the theme of the 2026 edition, outlining the importance of creating legacy through design and architecture.

Helsinki Design Week
28 August to 6 September, Finland

Habitare is a design fair that takes place every year in Helsinki during the city's design week, this year under the theme Plot Twists, asking for experimental and unconventional designs to be displayed.

Helsinki Design Week also hosts a programme of events that spotlight industrial, urban, graphic, interior and digital design, as well as design education and architecture.

London Design Festival
12 to 20 September, UK

London Design Festival is the UK's largest design festival, taking place across the capital city's Brompton, Chelsea, Hackney, Shoreditch and Mayfair neighbourhoods.

This year will see the festival's 24th event, with hundreds of activations exploring art, fashion, architecture, technology, materiality and design.

Tallinn Architecture Biennale
September to November, Estonia

While the exact dates of the 2026 edition of the Tallinn Architecture Biennale festival are yet to be announced, the festival is expected to run from September to November this year.

The event honours Estonian and Baltic design, often hosting a large-scale exhibition and other fringe events.

Singapore Design Week
September, Singapore

The dates for Singapore Design Week have also not been announced yet. The event hosts events in Bras Basah.Bugis, Marina, Orchard and Singapore Science Park districts in September each year.

The festival presents exhibitions, workshops, pop-up events and the Design Future Forum at the Victoria Theatre.

Dutch Design Week
17 to 25 October, The Netherlands

Located in Eindhoven, Dutch Design Week sets a mission for local and international designers to address five categories, while also following the set theme for the year: Thriving Planet, Living Environment, Digital Futures, Health and Wellbeing, and Equal Society.

For its 26th iteration, the event is expected to announce a programme of film screenings, performances, seminars, exhibitions and parties.

Design Week Lagos
18 to 25 October, Nigeria

Last year's iteration of Design Week Lagos hosted the Design and Innovation Exhibition, Made by Design trade show and Innovation Design Excellence (IDEA) Awards.

With each event pioneering African design, the festival spotlights regional furniture, industrial design pieces and products.

Designart Tokyo
30 October to 8 November, Japan

Annual festival Designart Tokyo will return to the Japanese city in October to highlight global architecture, interior, product and fashion design, technology, sport and food projects.

Previous editions have seen more than 100 brands present their pieces in exhibitions held in around 100 venues.

Design Week Mexico
October, Mexico

Mexico City will be the backdrop of this year's Design Week Mexico festival, which celebrates its 18th edition with pavilions, exhibitions, installations, pop-up showrooms and tours.

Each year, the event sets a theme, announces a guest country to highlight, and selects a venue to transform for the Design House exhibition.

Dubai Design Week
November, UAE

Dubai Design Week serves as a platform for regional design, organising events such as the d3 Awards exhibition, Editions art and design fair and Urban Commissions pavilions.

Last year's 11th edition hosted over 100 activations throughout the week.

Design Mumbai
25 to 28 November, India

Mumbai's Jio World Garden will – for the third time – host Design Mumbai, a trade show for international design brands and creatives.

The event spans four days, showcasing around 100 exhibitors, as well as site-specific installations and a series of talks.

Miami art week
1 to 7 December, USA

Art Basel Miami Beach, Design Miami and Alcova Miami are some of the largest events expected to take place during this year's Miami art week.

Other art fairs, exhibitions, open showrooms, talks and pop-up activations will be taking place in Miami Beach and Miami Design District.
