Canada's tallest skyscraper tops out at 106 storeys in Toronto

The Pinnacle SkyTower supertall skyscraper in Toronto, designed by local studio Hariri Pontarini Architects, has topped out at 106 storeys, marking a significant milestone in the completion of Canada's tallest building.
One of several skyscrapers under construction in Toronto, Pinnacle Skytower (SkyTower) now stands at 1,114 feet tall (340 metres) and is set to reach 1,154 feet (352 metres) when completed.

Its highest floor will place the skyscraper in line with the main observation level of Toronto's famed CN Tower, although by local rule, towers in the city are not allowed to exceed the structure's height of 1,815 (553 metres).
Pinnacle International is the project's developer, while Hariri Pontarini Architects designed the 12-sided, tapered tower.
"Now that we've reached the 106-storey mark, you can really feel the momentum accelerating," said Pinnacle International vice president of sales and marketing Anson Kwok.
Located near Queens Quay, SkyTower is one of several skyscrapers in the broader Pinnacle One Yonge development, a cluster of mixed-use buildings near the waterfront.
It will contain 958 residential units with amenities, as well as the Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel.
Renders of the completed building show a broad, curved multi-level base, while the tower's facade is covered with balconies and glazed sections.

In December 2025, SkyTower became the first tower in Canada above 100 storeys, surpassing the neighbouring One Bloor West tower designed by Foster + Partners, which had recently become Canada's first supertall skyscraper.
Toronto has several mega-developments and skyscrapers currently under construction, while major international architecture firms have also completed projects in the city, including RSHP and BIG.
Hariri Pontarini Architects is responsible for a number of projects in Toronto as well, including a geometric office building and three skyscrapers placed on top of the art deco College Park building.
