Saxum tiles by Casalgrande Padana
Dezeen Showroom: the age-old sophistication of stone combines with the latest technological advances of Italian company Casalgrande Padana in its Saxum range of porcelain stoneware tiles.
The Saxum range focuses on the primitive identity and organic beauty of natural stone, bringing the surfaces to life with sporadic veining, delicate colouring and an appreciation for imperfections caused by the passage of time.
The tile is available in five colours and a choice of two finishes, either a natural matt or a silk surface that Casalgrande Padana says gives a pleasant, aged effect.
The Saxum range has options for both indoors and outdoors and can be used across walls, floors, worktops, partitions and even as facade cladding.
Casalgrande Padana suggests trying it in a walk-in shower to make the space look as if it is carved from natural stone.
The brand says the tiles are long-lasting, easy to maintain and highly resistant to wear and tear, warpage and thermal shock, and they can be made antibacterial with the optional Bios Ceramics technology.
