Bluezones by Agustina Tolosa Picasso

Bluezones by Agustina Tolosa Picasso

"This project explores the link between wellbeing, environment and design through the philosophy of Blue Zones – regions known for long, healthy lives rooted in simplicity, community and harmony with nature.

"Translating these values into contemporary fashion, the work emphasises slow, intentional creation using natural materials, handcrafted techniques and organic forms.

"Natural dyes like beetroot, hibiscus, and turmeric create an earthy palette, while fluid silhouettes express comfort and freedom.

"Each garment promotes balance of mind, body and soul. More than a collection, it reflects a mindful approach to living, valuing longevity, care and meaningful connection through design."

Student: Agustina Tolosa Picasso
Course: Bachelor in Fashion Design – Introduction to Fashion Design 2
Tutors: Evangelina Julia Rodrigues Gonzalo and Ernesto Naranjo

Jazz: ChaosAndHarmony by Isabella Guerra

Jazz: ChaosAnd Harmony by Isabella Guerra

"Jazz: Chaos and Harmony explores jazz as both music and movement, tracing its evolution from New Orleans to contemporary forms.

"The project centres on the tension between chaos and harmony – how jazz disrupts structure while creating its own order.

"Influenced by key cultural moments like the Great Migration and Civil Rights Movement, each phase – swing, bebop, free jazz, fusion – reflects shifts in identity and resistance.

"Through materials, silhouettes, and colour, the work moves from black and white origins to vibrant experimentation.

"Using moulage and draping, it captures rhythm in form, ultimately expressing how improvisation can create balance, meaning and beauty."

Student: Isabella Guerra
Course: Bachelor in Fashion Design – Introduction to Fashion Design 2
Tutors: Ernesto Naranjo and Evangelina Julia

Sea Phantoms by Natalia Berumen

Sea Phantoms by Natalia Berumen

"This project draws on the 'phantoms of the sea', elusive underwater forms that shift between visibility and disappearance.

"It captures their fluid movement, translucency and constant transformation, where light bends and time seems to soften.

"Beneath the surface, control gives way to adaptation, and motion becomes a quiet dialogue with currents.

"Reflecting on ourselves, the work questions our resistance to change, suggesting that flow brings deeper alignment rather than loss of direction.

"Beauty emerges in subtle transitions – between movement and stillness, presence and absence.

"Ultimately, the project invites us to slow down, embrace change and find rhythm in moving with, rather than against our surroundings."

Student: Natalia Berumen
Course: Introduction to Fashion Design 1
Tutor: Evangelina Julia

The Train Revolution by Candela Hernández Hernández

The Train Revolution by Candela Hernández

"These looks aim to represent both the privileged and working classes through two train workers. The first outfit is inspired by a high-ranking train general, a reinterpretation of a tailored, pristine uniform not meant for labour.

"It symbolises the powerful image of capitalism: strong and flawless on the outside, but fragile underneath.

"In contrast, the second look reflects the working class, with ill-fitting or worn-out clothes, as if passed down.

"This worker has uncovered capitalism's deception (the paper bag) and broken free from the system's control, shown by puppet-like strings hanging from his trousers."

Student: Candela Hernández
Course: Bachelor in Fashion Design – Introduction to fashion design 2
Tutors: Ernesto Naranjo and Evangelina Julia

A Layered Ground by Ana Sofía Patiño Mondragón

"Plaza del Salvador, a small square near the Acueduct in Segovia, has long been a quiet but often overlooked space despite its rich historical layers.

"With minimal topography, the project shifts focus to the ground, inspired by how rainwater flows across its surface.

"A new multi-layered metal mesh structure is introduced, creating a permeable landscape that connects roofs, ground and public space.

"Designed as a flexible gathering system, it hosts markets, festivals and evolving activities.

"Foldable elements allow adaptation, while its abstract form preserves the plaza's identity as a subtle, ever-changing place for community and encounter."

Student: Ana Sofía Patiño Mondragón
Course: Bachelor in Architectural Studies – Design Studio 1
Tutor: Zuhal Kol

Ocupando Grietas by Laura Moreno Solano

Ocupando Grietas by Laura Moreno Solano

"Presented at the 25th Dutch Design Week, Ocupando Grietas explores magical realism as a framework to challenge Eurocentric narratives and bridge gaps in creative practice.

"Rooted in Latin American traditions, it examines storytelling as resistance and positions design as a critical, intersectional process.

"The project takes form as a dissected publication translating theory into principles, provocations, and strategies. Both object and process, it invites users to cut, write and reassemble its parts, fostering participation and reinterpretation.

"Ultimately, it proposes design as a shared, evolving practice – embracing ambiguity, layered perspectives, and storytelling as acts of reflection and resistance."

Student: Laura Moreno Solano
Course: Bachelor In Design – Bachelor Thesis Project
Tutor: Pablo Calderón Salazar

Liminal Trifecta by Aisha Rahmanova, Regina Garibay, Antonia Liehr and Anna Levesque

Liminal Trifecta by Aisha Rahmanova, Regina Garibay, Antonia Liehr and Anna Levesque

"Liminal Trifecta explores the potential of in-between spaces, balancing movement and pause, structure and freedom. It evolves from a simple frame into a flexible system that adapts and connects users through shared experience.

"Designed as a modular toolkit, it transforms into benches, swings, shaded rooms or gathering spaces. Inspired by the shifting patterns of a Hermès scarf, movable fabric panels and connectors create ever-changing enclosures.

"The open layout encourages fluid movement, interaction, and layered activity. More than a fixed structure, it is responsive and dynamic – blurring architecture and play while adapting to context and use."

Student: Aisha Rahmanova, Regina Garibay, Antonia Liehr and Anna Levesque
Course: Bachelor in Architectural Studies – design studio 5: technique
Tutor: Romina Canna

Through the Looking-Glass by Vered Elaine Mezin Gonzalez and Carlota Postigo Del Ser

Through the Looking-Glass by Vered Elaine Mezin Gonzalez and Carlota Postigo Del Ser

"This project proposes an editorial redesign of Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass, conceived as a chess game.

"The graphic composition translates each move into an eight-by-eight grid, integrating text and visual strategy.

"The narrative culminates in checkmate, symbolising Alice's ascension to queen."

Students: Vered Elaine Mezin Gonzalez and Carlota Postigo Del Ser
Course: Bachelor in Design – Typography, Layout and Presentation
Tutor: Ricardo Ostáriz Heras

Woven cascade by Maria Urrutia

Woven Cascade by Maria Urrutia

"This research-based architectural project explores craftsmanship, water systems and community living.

"Skeletal frames act as flexible armatures, with walls defined by textile techniques that create varied transparency and light, enabling transitions between private and public spaces.

"Inspired by local stitching traditions and shared motifs across Segovian crafts like metalwork and pottery, the design fosters a cohesive aesthetic.

"The house accommodates a textile artisan, collaborators and visitors, centred around a kitchen linking living and workspaces. Water is integral, with rain harvesting and underground systems supporting daily use and textile processes.

"Rooted in sustainability, the project blends tradition, function and contemporary living."

Student: Maria Urrutia
Course: Bachelor in Architectural Studies – Design studio 3: experience
Tutor: Ara González

Hot to Go by Ariadna Fernández Yenes, Estrella García Escribano, Marion Isabelle Agathe Vincey and Nilsu Ozdikicioglu

"This project explores the sun as a vital force shaping biological life and human culture, revealing a dual relationship of admiration and fear.

"While sunlight supports health through vitamin D, immunity and mental wellbeing, overexposure poses risks such as skin cancer and ageing.

"Drawing on science, history, and cultural perspectives, it examines solar energy from cellular to societal scales.

"Inspired by Madrid's sun culture, it proposes an inclusive, sustainable tanning environment using filtered UV exposure to reduce harm.

"Integrating eco-conscious systems, it also aims to restore local ecosystems, promoting a balanced relationship between human health, community and the environment."

Students: Ariadna Fernández Yenes, Estrella García Escribano, Marion Isabelle Agathe Vincey and Nilsu Ozdikicioglu
Course: Bachelor In Design – Design Studio III
Tutor: Igor Bragado Fernandez
