Eleven design collections launching at NYCxDesign 2026

With a busy design fair calendar, launching a collection during NYCxDesign shows a specific commitment to the city's creative scene. Here, we've chosen 11 stand-out launches to look out for in New York this week.
In recent years, the offerings at NYCxDesign seem to be shifting away from collectable, one-off pieces and towards limited collections and collaborative lines.
Emerging designers are still present in group shows, and themed novelty shows such as Head-Hi's Lamp Show and Jonald Dudd's showcases remain popular.
Here, we've highlighted 11 outfits that went with New York for their releases, from lighting to seating and wallpaper, emphasising technical processes.
The Staccato Collection by Astraeus Clarke x Devin Wilde
New York design outfits Astraeus Clarke and Devin Wilde collaborated on a modular lighting collection comprising sconces, pendants and chandeliers.
It combines Astraeus Clarke's "custom-engineered cast star bolt structures" with Wilde's ceramics, topped with his signature finial.
These lighting pieces project modernist rigour in shape and form without sacrificing ornamentation, and the studios said they wanted to communicate a "sense of ease and indulgence".
The lights come in aged brass or aged stainless steel with multiple different ceramic options, including brown, blue, black and white.
The Staccato Collection is launching at the Astraeus Clarke showroom by appointment.
Post Collection by Sam Klemick for RAD Furniture
Los Angeles designer Sam Klemick teamed up with manufacturer RAD Furniture for a collection of chairs, benches and ottomans in a variety of colours.
The collection combines the whimsy of Klemick, who often works in fabric and wood, with RAD Furniture's dialled-in metal production processes, attaching fabric elements to steel structural elements for an all-star Los Angeles production.
The Post Collection is launching at Afternoon Light.
500 Series by Sunset
New York design studio Wentrcek Zebulon, known for its blocky one-off pieces and boutique projects, launched a collection of outdoor furniture under the moniker Sunset.
The outdoor collection features a design "built like a sailboat" according to the studio, with marine-grade fiberglass and quick-dry upholstery.
The body of the furniture has a tinted gel coat embedded into the resin, while the cushions were created with a polymer derived from quartz sand, making them highly weather-resistant.
The 500 Series is launching at ICFF.
Pleat Collection by Stickbulb
Local manufacturer Stickbulb, known for its work converting New York's urban forest cuts into furniture, released a collection with its first use of paper in lighting.
Japanese traditional Kozo paper was pleated and embedded into the salvaged wood fixture base, with metal supports. It is available in a variety of stains and lengths.
The Pleat Collection is launching at Afternoon Light.
Double Tee Table Collection by Manos x Strang
Miami architecture studio Strang worked with design studio Manos to create a table based on the pre-stressed concrete elements found in the projects of architect Gene Leedy. It aims to align with Strang's work to preserve the architectural heritage of Florida.
Drawing on Manos's concrete expertise, the tables are formed and cast by hand and trowelled, with a variety of sizes, to "distill a defining element of mid-century modernism into a singular moment".
Double Tee Table Collection is launching at Paul Rudolph Institute for Modern Architecture.
Snow Mobile by Mary Wallis
Architectural lighting designer Mary Wallis launched two collections for the design week, including Snow Mobile, a series of floor and hanging lamps that reference American sculptor Alexander Calder.
Wallis combined Calder's mobile forms with technology, integrating OLED lighting in order to fuse "visionary design and emerging technology".
Snow Mobile is launching at Mary Wallis Chelsea studio, 526 W 26th St #302, 17-19 May.
Bosque by Lawson Fenning
Los Angeles furniture outfit Lawson Fenning launched a full collection of seating, dressers and tables, all informed by 1960s Japanese Metabolist architecture.
The pieces combine the rigid geometries of that school with sumptuous upholstery and rich woods. The collection is being presented alongside the launch of holey wood lamps Cuadra Collection by Los Angeles design studio Ceramicah.
The Bosque collection and Cuadra Collection are launching at the Lawson Fenning New York showroom.
Soft Serve by Pinch for Tina Frey
Pinch, the food-installation design studio founded by chef Bob Spiegel and designer Marjorie Artieres, launched its first-ever home collection with San Francisco ceramic studio Tina Frey.
A collection of serving trays was designed with specific shapes to serve multiple functions, and the white-ceramic objects themselves appear food-like.
Soft Serve is launching at Pinch Food Design studio in Chelsea, by invitation.
MLS-01 by Christian Borger for Rarify
Borger, a rising star in the New York design landscape, collaborated with Philadelphia design outfit Rarify, marking Rarify's first collaboration on a collection with an independent designer.
Working with San Francisco company Gantri's additive lighting manufacturing, Borger developed a system of lamps with plant-based polymer shades affixed to aluminium. The systems were designed to be modular, stacking to various heights.
MLS-01 is launching at Afternoon Light.
Luminous by Suchi Reddy for Calico Wallpaper
Architect Suchi Reddy has brought her neuroaesthetic approach to wallpaper, working with New York studio Calico Wallpaper to create a series of coverings meant to shape mood.
A series of designs featured layered colouring resembling abstract painting, all specifically chosen by Reddy based on her research in the way colour and light affect emotional states.
Luminous is launching at Calico Wallpaper's New York showroom.
A new venture by the founder of Canadian furniture studio Teknion, Ikonstudio is relaunching historic designs using archival research.
For its inaugural collections, which include pieces informed by Louis Kahn, Ikonstudio has produced chairs designed by SOM for the atelier of fashion house Halston.
