3D building design software Snaptrude launches free student plan

Promotion: American technology company Snaptrude is making its flagship building design tool free for architecture students across the world, so that they can "build the kind of portfolios that get them hired".
The Snaptrude Student Plan gives aspiring architects access to the same digital platform used by many established practitioners to rapidly turn their ideas into usable, presentable models.

The system includes 2D and 3D modelling software, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), and a Program mode that replaces disconnected spreadsheets with a live-linked table that's synced directly to the model.
There's also a presentation mode for showing the projects to clients or tutors, if needed.

"Students should not have to wait until they are in a firm to use software that matters," said Snaptrude founder and CEO Altaf Ganihar.
"With this launch, we are removing barriers so that every student can work with professional tools from day one. They can explore more ideas, iterate faster, and build the kind of portfolios that get them hired."
Using the newly launched plan, students can access all of Snaptrude's tools for the duration of their studies with no feature restrictions, including the company's new and improved 3.0 version and its AI-powered design assistant.
Thanks to its connected cloud foundation, the system allows students to have unlimited projects and work in different locations, whether at home, at university or on site, without being tied to a server.

Updates are live-linked across plans, models and data so they can collaborate easily with their studio partners and stay aligned with faculty feedback.
Snaptrude explained that its system also integrates seamlessly with other tools like Revit and Rhino.
"Students learn the fundamentals but often join the workforce without experience in modern workflows," Ganihar concluded. "This program closes that gap."
