118p portable lamp by Bocci
Dezeen Showroom: Canadian design brand Bocci has brought intrigue to portable table lamps with 118p, a rechargeable version of its dramatic 118 pendant light.
The 118p lamp features the same blown-glass design that appears across the 118 series, with abundantly layered petal- or feather-like forms contained within a transparent sphere.
Designed by Bocci co-founder Omer Arbel, the lights are created by blowing glass through a reusable steel cage, with gravity and movement gently stretching the molten glass that emerges through the grid into a shape reminiscent of a chrysanthemum flower.
For 118p, the glass sphere is presented without any visible external components, sitting simply on the table like a glowing orb.
The warm LED light fixture inside highlights the diverse shapes and densities of glass within the sphere, creating a mesmerising interplay of light and form.
The 118p lamp is USB-C compatible, comes with three brightness settings and delivers up to eight hours of use at full brightness or 80 hours on low from just a 45-minute charge.
