Gensler reveals design for Trump Tower skyscraper in Georgia

Designs have been revealed for a Trump Tower development in Tbilisi, Georgia, designed by Gensler, which will contain "six architecturally distinctive towers", including a 70-storey skyscraper that is set to be the tallest in the country.

Following news architecture studio Gensler is serving as the architect on the project, a single image was recently released, which shows an asymmetrical Trump-branded skyscraper rising as the development's centrepiece, surrounded by a cluster of shorter towers.

The project will be lead by development firms Biograpi Living, Archi Group, The Sapir Organization, Blox Group and Finvest Georgia and will include a business centre, luxury housing and retail shopping, a hotel, and dining and entertainment programming.

It is located overlooking Tbilisi's Central Park and will span 6,460,000 square feet (600,000 square metres) of total construction area.

"The project comprises six architecturally distinctive towers, including globally recognised branded residences and its defining centrepiece – Trump Tower Tbilisi – set to become the tallest and most iconic structure within the development," said the team.

The released image shows the 70-storey Trump skyscraper at the centre of the development. It has a diagonally-shaped cap, which contains a rooftop greenspace.

The tower's body contains a terrace towards the upper levels, and is covered by Y-shaped columns, which travel along its length.

The shorter, surrounding towers also contain terraces, which slice through the volumes at three intervals. Each of the buildings rests on a wide, curvilinear base, and the development is shown surrounded by greenspace.

The development is set to be the Trump Organization's first development in Georgia. According to the team, it marks "Tbilisi's emergence as an international business and investment hub at the crossroads of Europe and Asia".

The central skyscraper will be Georgia's tallest tower at 70 storeys if completed. Its current tallest built skyscraper is in the city of Batumi, which stands 660 feet tall (200 metres) at 35 storeys high.

Trump Tower Tbilisi will be the latest Trump Tower by the Trump Organization. The company is currently owned by US President Donald Trump, and run by his son Eric Trump.

Trump also recently revealed designs for a presidential library in Miami, while legal battles over his ballroom expansion to the White House continue.
