Beosound Haven speaker by Bang & Olufsen and Antolini

Dezeen Showroom: Italian stone brand Antolini has teamed up with Bang & Olufsen to create an outdoor speaker that explores "sound as an architectural language".
The Beosound Haven speaker, unveiled as part of an installation at Milan design week, combines a distinctive spherical speaker made by Bang & Olufsen from precision-engineered aluminium with a monolithic support formed from Antolini's Taj Mahal quartzite.

But ultimately, the speaker will be available in a range of different stones, from turquoise Amazonite to black-and-white Dalmata, chosen for their distinct depth, pattern and tactile quality.
"With Beosound Haven, our new outdoor speaker, we explore sound as the language of architecture," said Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, senior director of design at Bang & Olufsen.
"The product speaks to materials and helps shape atmosphere, generating a sense of belonging that is at once discreet and powerful."

Beosound Haven takes the form of both a freestanding and a wall-mounted speaker to suit different environments.
At Milan design week, it was presented as part of an installation that saw Antolini's Milano Duomo Stoneroom filled with verdant greenery and a mini reflecting pond.
