This week on Dezeen we featured a coffee pot with a helical spiral base

This week on Dezeen, designer Matteo Frontini updated the classic Moka coffee pot by adding a helical spiral base informed by jet engines.

According to the designer, this innovation means that the pot has 93 per cent more surface area and therefore cuts the time needed to brew coffee in half.
