Impact Acoustic mycelium tiles

Dezeen Showroom: wall tiles crafted from mycelium and cotton are among the sound-dampening products that Impact Acoustic has listed on Dezeen Showroom this year.

Swiss brand Impact Acoustic specialises in sound-dampening products. Read on to find out about the pieces the brand has listed on Dezeen Showroom in 2025.

Mycelium wall tiles are made from the root network of fungi

The brand harnessed the natural properties of mycelium – the root network that supports various types of fungi – for its aptly named Archisonic Mycelium wall tiles.

Described as being "cultivated, not manufactured", the material is grown in Switzerland from reclaimed agricultural waste before being formed into tiles.

Its natural origins eradicate the need for synthetic binders of any kind, however, this does not impact its capacity for sound control.

Spark is an acoustically-minded interpretation of a traditional lampshade

The company took the conventional, tapered form of a pendant lampshade and realised it in acoustic felt with characterful pinstripe-like grooves.

Spark comes in various sizes and colours, designed to be hung alone or in groups.
