Feel & Form collection by HBF Textiles

Dezeen Showroom: US brand HBF Textiles has embraced moodiness and tactility with its Feel & Form textile collection, which includes velvets and a metallic leather.

The Feel & Form collection brings together the enticing matt textures of fabrics like suede and boucle together with textiles and yarns that have light-responsive qualities.

HBF Textiles explained that the collection is intended to allow designers working with high-performance fabrics to not only achieve an aesthetic but shape emotion and atmosphere.

"We challenged ourselves to think about how light and texture can alter emotion, and the outcome is a collection that moves with its surroundings – alive, dimensional and deeply human," said HBF and HBF Textiles vice-president and general manager Casey Baxter.

There are five different textiles in the Feel & Form collection, each available in a number of colours. Velvet Cord features a thick and lustrous rib, while Velvet Mix is a flat style with a subtle sheen.

Metallic Muse brings luminosity to natural leather, while Petite Suede stands out for the way the matt surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it.

Blended Boucle delivers the topographic quality typical of this style of fabric, with a touch of metallic yarn adding an intriguing glint.
