Dezeen Showroom: from a mirror-polished stainless steel seat to a 3D-printed chair, as the festive season draws near, we've rounded up 12 chairs that we've published in 2025.

A spectrum of chairs has been published on our furniture directory throughout the year on behalf of global furniture brands and international designers.

Among them are chairs made from metal components usually found on construction sites, seats made using 3D printing, and reissues of design classics.

The process of swaging in forging metal is referenced in this chair range by Australian brand Design By Them and industrial designer Angus Easthope.

The aptly-named Swage chair collection includes a bar stool and dining chair, which feature a stainless steel, tapered-legged frame and plump upholstery.

Amia chair by E-ggs for Miniforms

This chair from Italian brand Miniforms and design studio E-ggs was "conceived like a sofa", owing to its chunky silhouette and fully-upholstered form.

The Amia chair can be finished with a variety of plain and patterned fabrics, and can optionally include wooden armrests cantilevered out from its back.

Spektra armchair by Mati Sipiora

Polish designer Mati Sipiora has released another all-metal chair, this time featuring rounded ends and a slatted seat.

The Spektra armchair is made in Sipiora's family's workshop and has a futuristic look thanks to its highly polished stainless steel material.

Bollo dining chair by Andreas Engesvik for Fogia

Bulbous back, seat, and arm cushions appear draped over and propped up on a slender metal frame in this dining chair by designer Andreas Engesvik for furniture brand Fogia.

The Bollo dining chair's bulging cushions aim to facilitate comfort when sitting at a table for long periods of time.

Conduit chair by Silla

A continuous length of ten-foot-long steel tubing – known in construction as a 'conduit' – forms the retro-style base of this chair by Texas-based design studio Silla.

The aptly-named Conduit chair comes in two finishes for the frame – green or lilac – and its stripy upholstery is nostalgically reminiscent of deck chairs.

BKF chair by Antoni Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy for Isist Atelier

Designers Antoni Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy's iconic BKF chair is being rereleased for the contemporary market by Spanish manufacturer Isist Atelier.

Also known as the butterfly chair, thanks to its lobed, symmetrical leather seat, the chair was originally designed in 1938.

Ruffini chair by Mungenast / Morroni

German architecture studio Mungenast / Morroni's Ruffini chair can be 3D-printed to order, anywhere in the world, using recycled plastic filaments.

The seat can be positioned in two ways: upright as more of a dining or task chair, and lengthwise as a lounge chair with a more reclined silhouette.

Miko (C) armchair by Tsuguji Sasaki for Bendi Bangkok

Thai brand Bendi-Bangkok and designer Tsuguji Sasaki worked together to produce this wooden chair, made using steam-bending techniques.

The Miko (C) armchair can be selected in oak, ash or beech timbers, each finished to highlight the natural grain of the wood.

A Bangkok-based metalwork factory was employed by Thai design practice Thinkk Studio to produce chairs with rippled, corrugated seats.

Strut chair by Yağmur Köylü for Yet Design Studio

Istanbul and London-based design studio Yet Design Studio borrowed the form of L-shaped structural angle profiles for the angular form of this all-metal chair.

Angle profiles are commonly used as a trim in building construction; however, they find a home in the Strut chair, and are offset by a soft circular pad on the chair's seat.

Curve chair by SmithMatthias for Allermuir

Design studio SmithMatthias exaggerated the top edge of its aptly-named Curve chair, creating an angled, sweeping backrest.

Made out of solid oak, the chair is decorated by the natural knots and grains present in the timber, and has a stocky, solid appearance.
