US brand Cicil uses restored 20th-century shuttle looms and wool sourced from local American farms to create its Tartan Shuttle Weave rugs, named after the oversized gingham pattern they feature.
The rugs are among five pieces rounded up in the next instalment of our quarterly newsletter, which sees Dezeen's Showroom editor compile their picks of designs, furnishings and fittings from the previous season.
Other designs featured in this edition of the newsletter include a glowing lamp comprised of six conical forms (pictured above), an aluminium modular storage system, a chair that combines stainless steel with marble and glass tables that look like they've been carved from ice.
