The Royal Institute of British Architects has awarded a home in Scotland designed by Izat Arundell the title of the UK's best new home.
Readers were split, with one calling it a "deserved award for a smart, modest, fitting the locale design", while another disagreed, saying, "it's nice enough as a one-bedroom house, but I'm not sure it really warrants an award".

Other stories in this week’s newsletter included news that the majority of Sou Fujimoto's Grand Ring in Osaka will be turned into firewood, a mass-timber modular school in Barbados and the US State Department's decision to end the use of the Calibri sans-serif typeface for its communications.
