Coffee Table 01 + Side Table 01 by Tom Black

Dezeen Showroom: classic Italian materiality is given a modern Australian twist in these coffee and side tables by interior designer Tom Black.

The Coffee Table 01 and Side Table 01 are made of large, curved slabs of pale travertine stone with a metal-lined furrow cut into their tops.

The coffee table is made of a long semi-cylinder of the stone, while the side table incorporates a cuboid base. They can be used in tandem or as standalone pieces.

The indent in the tables' surface deviates from conventional flat tabletops, providing material contrast as well as protecting items from being knocked off as easily.

They are made to order from travertine stone with a stainless steel inlay as standard, but additional material options are available on request.

The Coffee Table 01 and Side Table 01 are produced by T. Black Atelier, a furniture studio that builds upon Black's interior design practice and includes self-initiated items born from his personal design language.
