Promotion: Italian company Ceramiche Refin has unveiled its Ink collection, presenting a series of textured ceramic tiles "inspired by moods".

Launched in September at the international fair Cersaie 2025, the collection introduces a range of coloured tiles defined by hand-drawn micro-lines that, according to Ceramiche Refin, are determined by emotions.

The Ink collection was conceived by Refin's Laboratory to create a bold and experimental imprint that establishes a recognisable design.

The tiles can be used across a range of interiors, adding colour and a unique texture to floors and walls. The print also allows for a range of decorative outcomes depending on the orientation and layout of the tiles during installation.

Its colour selection includes eight matte shades spanning from neutral to deep and features white, grey, black, earth, powder pink, beige, blue and green.

"The three neutral shades (white, grey and black), the three warm and saturated shades (earth, powder pink, beige), and the two deep and introspective shades (blue, green) are inspired by moods and form a complete palette which highlights the emotional dimension of the collection," Ceramiche Refin said.

"As protagonists of the environments they adorn, they are capable of imparting extraordinary expressive power to spaces, transforming them into stages of pure inspiration and trendiness," it added.

Defined by lines and patterns, each tile features a unique hand-drawn design executed with Refin's industrial technology.

Balancing minimalism and "an oriental nuance", the result is a fluid and fabric-like texture across the tiles.

According to the company, the design comes from a "stream of consciousness" that translates from an "expression of the inner reality" to an "intimate and unrepeatable rhythm".

This design means that the appearance of the tiles changes with distance, Ceramiche Refin says.

"The levels of visual depth change depending on the viewing distance – close, medium or distant – modifying the perception of the pattern, which appears sharper or more compact, revealing the complexity of the composition," the company said.

The colour palette of the Ink collection contributes to its decorative quality and flexibility across interior spaces.

According to Ceramiche Refin, the Pure White shade creates a comfortable and serene interior, while Grace Grey represents elegance and courtesy.

Its more saturated shades include Blush Peach, which nods to intense and sweet emotions, and Earthy brown, which references a connection with nature.

Quiet green combines peace and calm, while Wavy Blue references a wave-like motion. Other colours include Bold Black, which represents affirmation and courage, and Cozy Beige, which portrays a welcoming approach.

"The palette translates the complexity of the interior world into colours, with multiple conditions of the mind and depths of mood," the company said.

For ease of application, the tiles are available in an 80 centimetres x 80 centimetres format, with a thickness of nine millimetres.
