UFC arena set to be built on White House lawn

UFC president Dana White has released renderings of a mixed martial arts arena set to be built on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington DC, for the America 250 celebrations in 2026.
White revealed the renderings of a massive stage proposed for a UFC fight in 2026 on a Fox News segment last week.
The stadium will accommodate around 5,000 spectators and be crowned with a massive arch covered in lights that will frame the White House and the Washington Memorial obelisk.
At its centre will be an octagonal arena where the UFC fights will take place.
In his interview with Fox, White compared the event to a production at the Sphere, calling it a "one-of-one type event".
On 20 September, the White House seemed to confirm the potential for constructing such an arena on the property where the president lives and works.
"See you on the South Lawn," said a post published by the White House on X, spelt in all capital letters.

While the event itself will have a 5,000-person capacity, likely due to space and security concerns, there will be another installation built outside of the grounds for a remote watch party.
It is the latest in a series of high-profile design decisions taken by president Trump's administration regarding the use and appearance of the White House.
Recently, Trump announced a new wing featuring a massive ballroom designed by architect James McCrery and released an order confirming "traditional and classical architecture" as the official preferred style of the federal government.
The UFC arena will be part of the overall celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence from Great Britain.
It follows a series of large-scale spectacles organised by the administration, including a parade for the military earlier this year, for which a large stage was erected in the nation's capital.
