This week we revealed the shortlist for Scotland's building of the year


This week on Dezeen, RIAS announced four buildings in contention for this year's Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland award, including a bridge clad with local granite.
Also on the shortlist were the restoration of a remote 16th-century tower, a teaching hub at the University of Edinburgh and a public space regeneration project.
Also this week, renders of a mixed martial arts arena on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington DC were released by UFC president Dana White.
Set to be built for a UFC fight in 2026, the stadium will feature seats for around 5,000 spectators surrounding an octagonal arena, with a light-covered arch spanning overhead.
In other news for the USA, president Donald Trump's announcement of a 30 per cent tariff on upholstered furniture imported into the country, which will come into effect on 1 October.
He also announced a 50 per cent tariff on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, aiming to limit the amount of furniture coming into the USA from other countries.
British studio Foster + Partners revealed a curved timber design for the Gstaad House showroom in Switzerland, with gallery and auction space arranged around a three-storey car ramp.
The sinuous building was designed to mimic the winding roads nearby and the contours of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
As part of the construction works for the 50 Fenchurch Street skyscraper in London, a 700-year-old church tower was propped 14 metres above an excavation site on four steel columns.
The medieval structure will become the centre piece of a public outdoor space upon completion of the skyscraper, which was designed by architecture studio Eric Parry Architects.
