This week we revealed heated Nike slides
This week on Dezeen, we unveiled a pair of slides that heat up and vibrate feet to help athlete's recover.
Created by sportswear company Nike and health technology company Hyperice, the slides contain a device in their straps that can heat and massage the top of feet.
Continuing our Future Stadium series we investigated why stadiums are becoming more outlandish and impactful.
To conclude the series, we rounded up the world's record-breaking stadiums including, the biggest and the most expensive.
In architecture news, we revealed that the long-awaited Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum, designed by the late Frank Gehry, is finally set to open in December.
The museum will become the latest attraction on Saadiyat Island, alongside Foster + Partners' Zayed National Museum, Mecanoo's National History Museum and Jean Nouvel's Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Following the news that the Glasgow School of Art cannot afford to renovate the Mackintosh Building after two major fires, Rory Olcayto suggested the institution give up the building in an opinion on Dezeen.
"We should rebuild the Mackintosh Building without the Glasgow School of Art – it has clearly exhausted its mandate as steward," he said.
While the future of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's best-known work remains very uncertain, numerous other significant building were protected this week as UNESCO added several additions to its World Heritage List.
In total, 13 modernist buildings in Finland designed by architects Aino, Elissa and Alvar Aalto were added to the list along with a collection of 10 Soviet modernist buildings in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In North America, a bridge connecting the United States and Canada opened to the public this week.
Named after Canadian-born Detroit Red Wings hockey player Gordie Howe, the design of the curved bridge was informed by a hockey slapshot.
Popular projects this week included a public toilet in Japan topped with a sweeping timber canopy, a charred wood house in Vermont and a relaunched 1986 Dieter Rams door handle.
