"New Designers Selects (ND Selects) is heading to Shoreditch this September, bringing a new generation of emerging design talent to the heart of London Design Festival.

"For the first time outside New Designers' flagship July showcase, ND Selects at Shoreditch Design Week will present a curated selection of young design businesses, typically one to five years into their careers.

"Running from 15 to 17 September 2026 at Kachette, 347 Old Street, the showcase is a new collaboration between New Designers and Shoreditch Design Week.

"The event will take place in what will be London Design Festival's biggest district and offering emerging practices a platform to connect with the wider design industry."

"I am a recent furniture design graduate from Nottingham Trent University, specialising in material-led, process-driven design.

"My work explores sustainability, circular principles and honest manufacturing, with a focus on creating refined, functional pieces that are built to last.

"I currently work as a circular designer at Lamington Group, designing furniture and products using reclaimed and waste materials.

"My practice combines hands-on making with an understanding of production, aiming to create efficient, durable designs with a clear and considered aesthetic."

Crackdown by Studio Soldout x LightOn Lighting

"Studio Soldout is an Istanbul-based design studio founded by industrial designer Ibrahim Fatih Satılmış.

"The studio develops lighting, furniture and objects with a focus on contemporary minimalism, cultural depth and production-ready detailing.

"Its work explores the relationship between material, light, form and atmosphere. Rather than treating decoration as surface detail, Studio Soldout approaches each object as a functional piece with a clear spatial presence.

"Materials such as metal, glass, stone and ceramic are often used to create calm, tactile and refined objects for contemporary interiors.

"The studio's process combines concept development, 3D CAD modelling, visualisation, CMF development, prototyping and manufacturing alignment.

"This allows each project to move from an initial idea to a technically considered object that can be presented, produced or developed further with manufacturers.

"Recent works include Crackdown, an award-winning decorative lighting object, and Moonside, a side table and lighting concept exploring transformation, wireless charging and changing light direction through a moon-inspired form.

Dune Candle Holder by Riolab Ceramics

"Riolab Ceramics is a London-based design studio founded by Chilean industrial designer Paulina Moreno Rios.

"With a background in industrial design, the studio explores the intersection between digital technologies and traditional craft, creating contemporary ceramic pieces that are both sculptural and functional.

"Working primarily with coloured porcelain, Paulina develops objects that celebrate form, texture and colour.

"Her process balances technology and experimentation with artisanal craftsmanship, blending slip-casting and hand-finishing to create objects full of character and tactile presence.

"Her latest collection, Dune, is inspired by the desert landscapes of northern Chile, where she grew up. The surfaces of the pieces reflect the movement of sand shaped by wind and light, where tonal variations shift from warm oranges and browns in daylight to deeper purples at sunset.

"With this collection, she aims to invite touch and evoke a sense of movement. The shadows across the surface of the pieces enhance this effect, encouraging people to explore and connect with these tactile objects."

"Ceramakka explores how sculptural form can bring the restorative qualities of nature into contemporary interiors.

"Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), Louisa Akka creates biomorphic ceramic forms that echo the cycles of growth, entropy and regeneration found in the natural world.

"Working with clay as an elemental and responsive material, each piece is shaped to create a quiet dialogue between form, light, shadow and space.

"The unglazed surfaces reveal the natural beauty of the ceramic material, with some sculptures meticulously hand-sanded to a silky, tactile finish, while others use a signature iron-transfer technique to evoke organic textures and tonal qualities of the forest.

"The goal of my design project is to create artefacts that invite introspection, presence and perspective.

"Within the concept of introspection, I'm creating objects that spark the practice of examining one's own thoughts and emotions to gain deeper self-awareness and understanding.

"This project is an exploration of how design can gently shift our attention inward, encouraging presence and inviting reflective practice.

"This collection of wooden furniture explores tactility, inviting a more embodied and intuitive way of sensing. A shallow inner slope on the sitting surface remains visually subtle, revealing itself only through physical engagement.

"The contrast between its visual lightness and actual weight prompts a moment of pause when lifting the piece.

"By creating tension between what is seen and what is felt, the work draws attention to the present and shifts focus away from purely visual perception."
