Teepee pavilion by Apirat Boonruangthaworn for Hawaii Thai

Dezeen Showroom: created by designer Apirat Boonruangthaworn for furniture brand Hawaii Thai, this pavilion aims to provide an inviting place for outdoor lounging.
Inspired by the conical tipi tents used by some Indigenous peoples of North America, the Teepee pavilion consists of a semi-circular sofa surrounded by translucent screens and shaded by an overhead canopy.
Where traditional tipis were made of buffalo hides, the Teepee pavilion is made of Hawaii Thai's Durawera synthetic rattan, which the brand favours due to its weather resistance and ease of care.
The material withstands sun, rain and even snow, according to the brand, and retains colour without fading or becoming brittle, so that it can be left outdoors for long periods of time.
Hawaii Thai debuted the Teepee pavilion set in 2024 in a green colour and has now expanded the offering to include brown and grey.
Optional add-ons include curtains, cushions and a coffee table to enhance privacy, comfort and functionality if desired.
