Specification tool by Ideal Standard and Villeroy & Boch designed to simplify bathroom design

A specification tool called Singular Configurator by Ideal Standard and Villeroy & Boch has been designed to help streamline bathroom design, as shown in this video created by Dezeen for the brand.

The online tool helps professionals across residential, hospitality, healthcare and commercial projects to find the best products to fit their vision, aiming to offer users a streamlined and simplified process for designing a bathroom or washroom.



Ideal Standard and Villeroy & Boch have released the Singular Configurator

The tool draws from a portfolio of over 12,000 products to assist users in creating a custom bathroom design.

Users can create an entirely new project through Singular Configurator or view existing pre-configured designs to help with inspiration.

Existing projects on the platform have names such as Radiant Comfort and Timeless Elegance to help distinguish between designs.

Within those projects, users can start to configure the individual elements they would like to adjust, from the toilet to the washstand area.

The tool was designed to assist planners, designers and architects to end-consumers.

The Singular Configurator tool studies the user's selections to make further suggestions, completing a full design assembly that ensures products match in terms of compatibility and dimensions.

Once the user completes their selections, they can download a project pack with detailed product information for each chosen item.

The project pack also includes useful required documentation such as Environmental Product Declarations, BIM files and product sheets.

Ideal Standard and Villeroy & Boch hope to provide a simple, flexible process for designing a bathroom or washroom, encouraging people to use the platform as a single supplier for bathroom solutions.

The platform offers design inspiration for ceramics, bathing, showering and more and offers registered users the ability to share their projects with other users to collaborate on the same space.

The collaboration with Ideal Standard is the latest in a series of partnerships from ceramics brand Villeroy & Boch.
