Athens concept store and cafe 10AM Apotheke has opened a pop-up shop on the Southern Aegean island of Antiparos, with interiors designed by the brand's founder Eva Papadaki and Studio Andrew Trotter.

During the day, the 10AM Apotheke pop-up operates as a store selling a mix of homeware and skincare items, with an on-site cafe serving freshly pressed juices, coffee and seasonal breakfast dishes.

In the evenings, the venue transforms into a bar, offering a menu of botanical cocktails infused with wild ingredients that are native to Antiparos.

Papadaki collaborated with Barceona-based Studio Andrew Trotter on the interiors of the pop-up, which takes over Antiparos' former folklore museum and was designed to offer customers an insight into the slower, more mindful style of living on the island.

"It was never meant to be a traditional retail space," Papadaki told Dezeen. "It was designed as a home you can move through, live in, and return to – a place where each function holds memory and intention."

"It connects back to our roots, and redefines what a concept store can be," she added.

At the heart of the plan is the store, where products are showcased on wooden dressers and tables that were sourced from vintage markets across Greece.

From there, Papadaki said, the layout unfolds much like a house, with a sequence of spaces each serving a different function.

There's a large kitchen, boasting lime-plaster walls and a stainless steel counter.

This is followed by a front garden with tables and woven-back chairs dotted throughout, where customers can sit to enjoy their food and drink.

"Eventually, we also planted a garden in the back – the kind our grandparents used to have – that now supplies our kitchen and bar with herbs and vegetables," added Papadaki. "It's all part of living the space. Not just designing it."

Greek artist Theodor Psychoyos was invited to sculpt a handful of furnishings for the pop-up, including a bench, dining table and candle altar. Each piece is carved from hefty blocks of marble.

"Collaborating with Theodor Psychoyos came from a desire to bring local, reclaimed Greek marble into the space – not as decorative elements, but as functional pieces," explained Papadaki. "The result is almost like an installation."

Dezeen has featured a number of other venues that, like the 10AM Apotheke pop-up, function as a cafe by day and a bar by night. This includes El Fant in Helsinki, which features a punchy mix of tomato-red furniture and galvanised steel partitions.

There's also Pan in Milan, orientated around a matcha-coloured service counter.
