Poodle armchair by Mati Sipiora

Dezeen Showroom: Polish designer Mati Sipiora has released an armchair named Poodle that has a partially bulbous frame reminiscent of the eponymous dog breed.

Comprising alternating sections of chunky and spindly tubular steel, the Poodle armchair has a playful silhouette informed by the iconic poodle cut, which sees some areas of the dog shaved and some left longer and rounded.

In particular, it references the balloon animal interpretation of poodles, with the thick sections of tubular steel having the quality of long, inflated balloons.

Sipiora, who produces the chair through his own brand, describes it as "a blend of avant-garde design and comfort", as the tubular steel is married with an upholstered seat cushion.

"The Poodle armchair perfectly balances form and function, making it a versatile and sophisticated addition to any interior," said Sipiora.

The Poodle chair is available in either polished or painted stainless steel, and with upholstery in either white bouclé or coloured velvet.
