Promotion: international trade show Marmomac will return for its 59th edition in September, presenting the latest trends and technology for building with natural stone.

Taking place from 23 to 26 September in Verona, Italy, 1,400 exhibitors from over 50 countries and 150 nations will participate in the event, which spans 12 halls and seven outdoor spaces.

Marmomac's latest edition will examine advanced approaches to stone design. It intends to explore the material in its "productive, technical, and cultural dimensions" and present a diverse programme to enhance visitors' technical knowledge, while fostering networking and connections.

"Marmomac is much more than a trade fair: it is the international stage where natural stone becomes business, culture, innovation, and relationships," said Veronafiere president Federico Bricolo.

The 2025 event's layout is informed by Le Corbusier's 1925 plans for Paris, known as Plan Voisin, and aims to replicate a "stone city". The configuration is organised into curated pathways, which guide visitors through the history and contemporary use of stone in art, architecture and design.

A natural installation made from a combination of semi-finished stone products and slabs will feature at the event's core.

Across four areas, visitors will gain an insight into cutting-edge technologies, advanced machinery and innovation in the global stone industry. The first stage will focus on quarrying, and the precision and efficiency needed to reduce environmental impact.

The second stage will present the latest research into cutting and processing stone, while the third stage will focus on surface treatment technologies, such as honing, hammering, sandblasting and vacuum resin treatment.

The final stage will present the use of robotics and how companies are integrating new technologies to improve logistics and fabrication.

The event also includes an interactive space called The Plus Theatre, which is pitched as a "crossroads for experimentation and dialogue between natural stone, design, and future visions". The theatre will be a place of discussion where visitors and experts can share experimental ideas and technologies.

The Plus Theatre programme will present multiple installations, four exhibitions, a wine bar and a restaurant. It aims to offer a multifaceted narrative in which stone takes centre stage in the transformations of living spaces and creative projects.

The event features a talks programme, with speakers including DFC Studio founder Davide Fabio Colaci, who will discuss the relationship between "ornament, surface and material" in a lecture titled Marble and the Values of Surface.

Visual artist and filmmaker Yuri Ancarani will also speak alongside ArtVerona artistic director Laura Lamonea. The duo will explore the role of stone in contemporary design.

Additional speakers include Space Caviar founder Joseph Grima and geologist Grazia Signori.

"The Plus Theatre reaffirms itself as the most authoritative creative platform in the sector, where material, culture, and design converge in a collective narrative centred on natural stone," said the event organisers. "An international showcase for companies, designers, and institutions eager to shape the future of the lithic world."

Founded in Verona, Marmomac is a leading international trade fair for natural stone supply, including quarrying, processing, technologies, machinery, and tools.
