Dezeen Showroom: Spanish design brand Kettal has published a variety of its recent releases on Dezeen Showroom, from seating to office furnishings.
Architect and designer Patricia Urquiola looked to Arab majli sitting rooms to inform this low-slung, laid-back modular seating system, which she created for Kettal.
Intended for hosting guests and relaxed reclining, the modules that make up Insula can be used alone or in tandem to create larger seating areas to accommodate additional sitters.
The capacious modules comprise plump square seats, bolster-style cushions and an aluminium base. Each component comes in various colourways.
Pavilion V is a freestanding, modular kit for garden rooms designed by Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen.
Users can personalise the final structure by selecting various facings and appliances, all of which nod to the functionalism of open-plan 1950s American modernist homes.
The Pi workspace organisation system is among the recent releases by the brand geared towards office interiors, and comprises H-shaped segments that can be specified to perform a variety of functions.
Each component is clad in recycled PET panels and falls into one of three categories: Focus for dedicated work areas, Meet that is dedicated to collaboration, and a third versatile category that can house a range of functions, from printing stations to kitchenettes.
Passage tables and chairs, which were created by French designer Ronan Bouroullec for Kettal, are made entirely from recycled aluminium, which makes them both lightweight and recyclable.
Users can select from various colours for the frames and finishes for the seat. The range comprises dining and club chairs as well as coffee tables and three sizes of dining table.
As well as workplace furnishing systems, the brand has also released Kall booths, a pod for private meetings and focused work that deviates from the clunkiness of typical work booths.
Glass sides help to maintain sightlines across open plan interiors and foster a sense of minimalism – this is continued within the pods, which comprise only essential elements for comfort and productivity.
Established in 1966 and headquartered in Barcelona, Kettal is a Spanish brand that specialises in the design and manufacturing of furnishings for both residential and public interiors.
Its catalogue comprises pieces for both indoor and outdoor use, with pieces frequently developed in collaboration with notable designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Ronan Bouroullec and Vincent Van Duysen.
