Promotion: the School of Architecture and Design at IE University in Spain has introduced new tracks within its Bachelor in Design programme, focusing on interiors and video game design and virtual environments.
It has new full-time master's degrees in both Interior Design and Video Game Design and Virtual Environments as well as offering a bachelor's degree. The tracks are intended "to empower the next generation of creative professionals to thrive in a fast-evolving, global, and entrepreneurial landscape", said IE University.
"These programmes reflect IE School of Architecture and Design's bold vision of becoming a global hub for creative innovation – a living gallery and laboratory where students, faculty, and professionals collaborate to redefine the boundaries of design and architecture," it said.
"The school aspires to be a cultural touchpoint, one that fosters a deep connection with the wider community while inspiring ideas that shape a better world."
The Bachelor in Design: Interior Design Track is a four-year program that equips students with the technical skills needed to design innovative and functional interior environments.
It will be held at the university's Segovia and Madrid campuses and, according to the school, it will focus on the development of "spaces for exchange and spaces for living, encouraging students to reimagine how people interact with their environments".
Meanwhile, the 10-month master's degree in Interior Design will zone in on sustainability and entrepreneurship, as well as the design of "transformative spaces". Teaching will be held in person at the Madrid IE Tower campus.
The bachelor in design in Video Game Design and Virtual Environments track will also be held in person at the Segovia and Madrid campuses over the course of four years.
It has been curated to provide students with the skills they need to design "immersive and interactive" gaming and virtual reality experiences.
The 10-month master's degree will be hosted in Madrid and strive to prepare "students for leadership roles in the digital entertainment industry".
According to IE University, the courses reflect the School of Architecture and Design's continuous ambition to "break new ground in design education".
All programmes will integrate "project-based learning, environmental and social responsibility, and interdisciplinary thinking", it said.
The Interior Design and Video Game and Virtual Environments tracks will be officially launched at events on 5 November and 21 November respectively.
