Grounded rugs by Plesner Patterns and InHouse Group
Dezeen Showroom: Norwegian studio Plesner Patterns has brought lush and playful nature-inspired designs to this collection of rugs, developed in collaboration with carpet supplier InHouse Group.
Jordnaer (Grounded) rugs feature the effusive designs of Plesner Patterns founder Kiki Plesner-Löfroth, who combined her love of nature with nostalgia for the freedom of childhood when creating the range's patterns.
There are three designs in the range: Wild Meadow is inspired by the wild abundance of flowers and grasses in a field, while Forest Ground is intended to evoke the joy of walking barefoot and feeling the land beneath you.
The two variations on the Leaf design – Leaf Play and Leaf Nature – feature a naive style of expression meant to bring to mind childlike wonder, while beige tones and rich textures keep the overall look mature and minimal.
"Each rug captures a unique experience of being outdoors, and the soft, hand-tufted qualities provide warmth, texture and a sense of balance," said Plesner Patterns.
"The result is calm and sensual surroundings in tune with the rhythms of nature."
The Grounded collection is made of 100 per cent wool and is hand-tufted in India. International orders can be made through novooi.com.
