Gaggenau unveils oven featuring "floating control ring" in Dezeen video

Dezeen has teamed up with German appliance brand Gaggenau to showcase its newest oven, as revealed in this video created by Dezeen for the brand.
The oven is part of Gaggenau's latest range of appliances called The Gaggenau Expressive series, which includes additional appliances such as a fully automatic coffee machine and a vacuuming drawer.

The appliance range features a traditional, combi-steam and combi-microwave oven.
All three ovens include a circular "floating control ring", which is positioned centrally on the glass door of the appliance.
Other features of the traditional oven include a user interface that lights up when the user approaches, a full surface grill and a blue enamel interior.
Gaggenau enlisted the help of a team of artisans to hand-brush the stainless steel before the automation process began.
The brand aimed to use minimal materials while constructing the ovens, and stated that the series was influenced by Bauhaus principles and modernist architecture.
Custom milling techniques were used while designing the chamfered edges of the oven, aiming to bring a higher level of quality and detail to the series.
The oven can reach up to 300 degrees Celsius and is equipped with a multi-point core temperature probe.
The Expressive Series is the first new cavity series by Gaggenau in nearly two decades. All appliances within the series can be stacked or arranged in a variety of layouts to meet the needs of the user.
Dezeen previously teamed up with Gaggenau to host a filmed talk in its flagship showroom in Shanghai, which was moderated by Dezeen's China editor Christina Yao.
The Gaggenau Expressive Series is available from summer 2025. To learn more about the brand, visit its website.
