Five ice cream shops that provide cool respite from the summer heat

Our love for ice cream is global, as proven by these stylish shops in locations ranging from London to Buenos Aires.

SR Ice Cream Miyakojima, Japan, by Kii
Located on an island in the southern part of Japan's Okinawa prefecture in the Pacific Ocean, SR features local materials including limestone and perforated concrete bricks.
It also has a striking curved pink ceiling, whose colour was chosen to "ensure it harmonised with the environment at any time of day or night," Kii co-founder Satoshi Arai told Dezeen.
