Tripot stool by Fogia in collaboration with Inga Sempé in Tjoget, Sweden

Swedish design brand Fogia's Tripot stool, which was created in collaboration with French designer Inga Sempé, was specified for use in Tjoget, a restaurant and bar in Stockholm's Hornstull district.

The stool is defined by its three tapered legs, triangular seat and sculpturally diverging foot rest. It comes in two finishes, natural ash or black laquer.

Taller versions of the stool feature along the metallic bar, while shorter iterations are positioned either side of low metal tables by the restaurant's front window, creating a low-slung, casual seating area. The interior's abundant use of metal contrasts with the natural grain of the ash.

"Fogia is renowned for its refined craftsmanship, material integrity, and timeless design language. Their ability to seamlessly merge form and function results in spaces that feel both elevated and approachable – a sensibility that aligns closely with the spatial narrative at Tjoget," said Joel Söderbeck, Tjoget's co-owner.

"The Tripod barstool exemplifies this ethos: its sculptural silhouette, ergonomic precision, and visual lightness made it an intuitive choice for the project."

Duomo Piccolo lighting collection by Nightworks in Enoteca Boccaccio, Melbourne

Informed by the domes that crown Italian churches, New Zealand brand Nightworks Studio's Duomo Piccolo lighting range are characterised by a rounded metal shade.

Alongside a pendant light, the collection includes a sconce and stemmed wall lamp, both of which can be found on the walls throughout Melbourne's Enoteca Boccaccio restaurant.

Informed by the atmosphere of tucked-away wine bars on Italian side streets, the interior has a richness fostered by a palette of burgundy furniture and curtains, wine-red striated marble and gold-coloured metallic accents, which is reflected in the Duomo lights brass materiality.

"We selected the Duomo light fittings from Nightworks Studio for our restaurant project – Enoteca Boccaccio – for their simple yet architectural form that strikes a balance between elegance and restraint," Mim Fanning, principal of Mim Design, told Dezeen.

"Their curved silhouette subtly echoes the arches of traditional European enotecas, reinforcing the design narrative without overpowering it. The diffused light helps to create a warm, intimate atmosphere, whilst their sculptural simplicity and brass finish complements the detailing throughout."

Kelp Collection chair by Interesting Times Gang in Black Milk Gastro, Sweden

Swedish studio Interesting Times Gang worked with Michelin-star chefs Niclas Jönsson and Daniel Höglander to develop a collection of 3D printed seating specifically for Stockholm's Black Milk Gastro bar.

The Kelp Collection is made entirely from a biomaterial containing plastic from defunct maritime gear, including fishing nets and ropes, as well as waste wood fibres sourced from the country's saw mills.

The undulating forms are informed by the swaying shapes of marine vegetation in underwater currents, which is further highlighted by their 3D printed materiality, which facilitates uniform, continuous shapes.

"When Michelin-starred chefs Niclas Jönsson and Daniel Höglander of Black Milk Gastro approached Interesting Times Gang, their brief was clear – they wanted something as refined as their cuisine and unlike anything the restaurant world had seen before," Alexander Westerlund, head of design at Interesting Times Gang, told Dezeen.

"In response, Interesting Times Gang created the Kelp Collection, which reimagines waste as a resource. Each piece features flowing, organic forms that speak of the future of circular design."

Panarea outdoor chairs by CMP Design for Pedrali in Khufu's restaurant, Egypt

Italian brand Pedrali's Panarea outdoor chairs feature on the covered outdoor seating area of this restaurant that overlooks the Giza plateau's trio of iconic ancient pyramids.

The seats comprise tubular steel frames strung with lengths of knotted polypropylene cord, which form a geometric backrest of small triangular voids.

This is one of the reasons that Cairo-based practice Style Design selected the seats for the outdoor terrace of their Khufu's Restaurant project – the small triangles reflect the shape of the pyramids that the diners overlook.

"At Khufu's Restaurant, we were looking for a contract chair that would seamlessly blend into the surrounding desert landscape while aligning with our contextual design language — and Pedrali's Panarea chair struck the perfect balance," Nadine Ghorab, of Style Design, told Dezeen.

"Its minimal design, natural materials, handwoven texture and triangular lines subtly connect with the geometry of the pyramids and reference traditional Egyptian craftsmanship, offering a comfortable, durable and sustainable solution that feels both contemporary and timeless."

Bobby stools by Design By Them in Ode Eatery, Kuwait

Open backs and a frame made up of simple circular and cylindrical forms characterise these stools and chairs by Australian design brand Design By Them that seat diners in this Kuwaiti cafe.

The Bobby stools in natural and black stained ash sit against a backdrop of dramatic silver-and-black Alpi wood panelling and ridged stainless steel sheeting.

Ode Eatery is situated in the city of Salmiya, and was designed by Kuwait City-based interiors firm Fortytwelve, which specialises in retail and hospitality design projects.

"The Bobby Chair and Stool were specified for their balance of simplicity and character," Khaled Alawadhi, founder of Fortytwelve, told Dezeen. "Their rounded profiles and minimal detailing offer just enough articulation to feel considered, without drawing attention."

"We were looking for pieces that could hold a presence without becoming focal points, something visually calm, durable and well-made. Their compact scale fits naturally within Ode's tight footprint, while the black stained ash finish creates a subtle contrast against the lighter stone and stainless steel palette."
