Everything Series One tables by Skewed

Dezeen Showroom: Swedish design brand Skewed has released a collection of multifunctional "open-ended objects" made from ash and MDF that can function as tables, stools or plinths.

Skewed describes Everything Series One as challenging the norms of conventional furniture by focusing on objects that are versatile, durable and considerate of both people and the planet.

"At the heart of Everything is a simple principle: design should not dictate use," said Skewed. "Instead, it should invite interpretation."

"A table might serve as a bench, a plinth or a workspace – depending on where it is placed and who is using it. These are open-ended objects designed to accommodate the unpredictability of real life."

The pieces within Everything Series One are simple, consisting of two intersecting solid ash wood legs and a round top made of either ash or MDF to accommodate different budgets.

Made in partnership with sixth-generation Swedish woodworking company Wigells, the CNC-milled components fit together snugly and are secured with nothing but four screws.

According to Skewed, the pieces are designed for longevity and are made from responsibly sourced local wood.
