Dezeen Awards 2025 Designers of the Year shortlists revealed

Dezeen has announced the Designers of the Year shortlists for this year's Dezeen Awards, which includes nominations for Kéré Architecture, Iris van Herpen and India Mahdavi.

The Designers of the Year awards recognise the best emerging and established talent whose innovative work has made a notable impact on the industry across architecture, interiors and design.

This year, Dezeen Awards judges nominated studios for their notable industry impact before Dezeen's editorial team selected the shortlist.

The shortlist includes Japanese architet Sou Fujimoto, who was shortlisted for architect of the year, Ukrainian studio Mirzoyan, which was shortlisted for emerging interior designer of the year, and British designer Faye Toogood, who was shortlisted for designer of the year.

Berlin-based studio Kéré Architecture, nominated for architect of the year, recently unveiled a brick mausoleum in Burkina Faso, built from locally sourced laterite and clay bricks to commemorate the country's former president.

Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen, nominated for designer of the year, recently spoke exclusively to Dezeen about making clothes using living organisms — encapsulating her studio's latest focus on biomaterials.
