Couture collection by Alessandro La Spada for Antolini

Dezeen Showroom: designer Alessandro La Spada worked with Italian stone brand Antolini to create a series of wall motifs that combine natural stone with other materials.
The Couture collection puts a creative spin on natural stone, with metallic elements and graphic patterns layered with different colours and styles of stone.
Some of the best stones from Antolini's 1,300-strong catalogue feature in the range, which comes in 12 variations. Each of these is available in a wide range of options and can be further customised.
The stones are cut, processed and assembled into styles such as Net, with its delicate linear metal patterning, and Ginko, with its abundant, Art Nouveau-esque floral motif featuring multiple stones.
La Spada describes the design of each motif as an artistic response to the natural "interweaving" of different elements that goes into making a single stone.
"Interweaving is an intrinsic element in natural stone, a gentle spontaneous suggestion particular to the material: it is at the very moment a block is cut that an interweaving of elements formed over centuries is revealed," said La Spada.
"The Couture Collection is an example of creativity and expertise: natural weaves, which are spontaneously offered to us by Mother Nature, to which admixtures of different materials are added."
