Cosmic stool by Mati Sipiora among 14 new products on Dezeen Showroom
Dezeen Showroom: a stool that appears to be made from tiny metal pillows is among 14 products featured on Dezeen Showroom.
Polish designer Mati Sipiora created a contrast between stainless steel and the plump look of cushions in this stool.
Named Cosmic, the stool has a futuristic and statuesque aesthetic bolstered by its shiny metal or block colour finishes.
The stool was recently featured on Dezeen Showroom alongside a reissuing of an iconic chair originally released in 1938 and a side table that can be deconstructed and its components used as a vase and mirror.

Design brand Candour Antwerp has released a side table made up of three stainless steel components that can be disassembled to function as a vase and mirror.
The Miro side table is made up of rounded forms and components that soften its uniform metal materiality.

Cruciform bases characterise these tables by Swedish studio Afteroom for furniture brand Andreu World.
Users can select from a range of finishes and materials for the Garzetta tables, which come in a choice of three round-cornered tabletop styles and a variety of sizes.

Swage chair collection by Angus Easthope for Design By Them
Australian brand Design By Them collaborated with industrial designer Angus Easthope on a collection of stainless steel chairs that honour metalworking.
The Swage chair collection is named after the metalworking method of swaging, and features tapered steel legs that support thickly upholstered seat and backrests.
Midas collection by Dimore Surfaces
Italian brand Dimore Surfaces looked to Japanese zen gardens and the concept of wabi-sabi to inform this range of sintered stone surfaces.
Surfaces in the Midas collection are available in five natural colourways and a variety of size formats, which are all highly robust thanks to their production process, which involves heating to high temperatures.
Raku tile collection by La Platera
Spanish brand La Platera has released a range of rectangular tiles that aim to bring tactility to interior walls.
The Raku tile collection comprises two tile types – slim Pencil and chunkier Brick – that come in a selection of colours, united by natural-looking variations.
Hand-sculpted planters by Gray Gardens
Cement raked with finger marks or smoothed flat, decorate these oversized planters by US- and Lebanon-based studio Gray Gardens.
These hand-sculpted planters aim to "provide an element of savagery, as wild and poetic as the nature they house".

Texas-based design studio Silla has released a deck chair-like seat with a base made from bent steel conduit tubing.
The aptly named Conduit chair comprises a metal frame – finished in sage green or lilac – and is equipped with wooden armrests and a fabric seat.

Lithuanian office furniture brand Narbutas has released a work pod that aims to make extended periods of work more comfortable and productive.
Sonus S+ is a continuation of the brand's Sonus range, which is characterised by clean lines and an overall minimal aesthetic without compromising functionality.

Ohtake bathroom collection by Rodrigo Ohtake for Roca
Brazilian architect and designer Rodrigo Ohtake has added a bathtub and two basins to his eponymous bathroom product range for Spanish bathroom brand Roca.
The bath in the Ohtake bathroom collection is informed by traditional Japanese Ofuro baths. The two sinks are modelled after calla lilies.
Space 1.5 office pod with Zen by Silen
Estonian brand Silen has developed a mode for its Space 1.5 office pod named Zen, which creates a calm atmosphere with the touch of a button.
The pod's glass sides are opaque for privacy, and it can play ambient noises such as birdsong.

Belgian flooring brand Modulyss has released a carpet tile designed to mimic the transitions between landscapes in nature.
Artcore comes in various patterns as well as transitional tiles that allow them to merge into one another seamlessly.
The iconic 1938 BKF chair, which comprises a leather or canvas seat tucked onto a metal base, continues to be manufactured by Isist Atelier.
The chair was originally created by architects Antoni Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, and is nicknamed the butterfly chair thanks to its symmetrical seat.
