Promotion: Italian studio DNA Design Lab chose the natural stone collections from Italian manufacturer Antolini for an apartment in a skyscraper in Luxembourg.

The two-bedroom apartment on the 26th floor of a skyscraper utilised stone to fulfil the requests of the client, who sought to "celebrate nature".

Throughout the apartment, DNA Design Lab utilised a variety of stones from two high-quality Antolini collections – the Exclusive Collection and Natural Stone Collection.

With a brief to evoke the natural luxury of the Mediterranean Sea and the Jardin Exotique, DNA Design Lab founder Alexey Dyakov travelled to the Antolini headquarters in Verona to select several stones to be used as highlights and full-panel features in the project.

According to Antolini, the project further underscores its consultative role, in collaboration with Marble & Granite Service Srl, a Verona-based company specialising in the sourcing and custom processing of natural stone.

"Having the opportunity to see and touch an infinite selection of natural stones with our own hands was undoubtedly a plus in terms of the project," said Dyakov.

"It made it possible for us to find and select those surfaces that best met our needs and desires in terms of patterns and colours."

The studio made extensive use of the Camouflage marble variety from Antolini's Natural Stone Collection – a rich yet subtle stone that forms a full wall in the living room, as well as backsplashes and even a full bar counter in the kitchen.

Dyakov said that this natural stone became a focal point for the design, anchoring the sensibility of the whole apartment.

"The undisputed focal point is the Camouflage stone, which served as the starting point for selecting complementary stones," added Dyakov.

Several complementary stones were selected, utilised from the bedrooms and baths to the loggia social space, prioritising "matte and leathered finishes," according to Dyakov.

In one bathroom, the studio rendered the floors, sinktop and walls in elegant, white Calacatta OMG marble, while the guest bathroom features the warm-hued Cappuccino soft quartzite.

The third bathroom features a rich Ardesia Black with a naturally split finish sinktop, complemented by deeply hued woods and a Quartzite Piombo flooring.

In many aspects of the apartment, DNA Design Lab accentuated the Antolini products with woods, showcasing the diverse accompanying palettes available to the material.

The apartment was designed for hosting, with an outdoor-facing "BBQ Kitchen" complete with Taj Mahal quartzite lining the walls and flooring.

Perhaps the most standout detail of the apartment is a bar for the hosting space rendered in Cristallo Traslux, which, true to its name, becomes luminous in the evening hours thanks to backlighting, highlighting the stone's transparency and its pearlescent veining.
