The AIA has named 10 winners of its 2025 Architecture Awards program, which includes a campus in Rwanda by MASS Design Group, an astronomy museum in Shanghai by Ennead Architects and a renovated steel mill in Pittsburgh.
The 2025 awards ceremony hosted in Boston included an assortment of categories, including the main Architecture Awards for "best contemporary architecture", the COTE awards for excellence in sustainable design and others such as the Education Facility Design Awards, Justice Facilities Review Awards and Small Project Awards.
"Every project honored through these 11 award programs reminds us of the profound impact architecture has on our communities," said AIA president Evelyn Lee.
"Great architecture is not just about buildings; it is about creating spaces that uplift, connect, and inspire. These winners exemplify how thoughtful design can improve lives and shape a better future for all."

Shanghai Astronomy Museum, China, by Ennead Architects
Completed in 2021, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum was designed to reflect the shapes and geometries of the universe and is said to be the "largest museum worldwide solely dedicated to the study of astronomy".

11 NOHO Mixed-Use Housing, United States, by Brooks + Scarpa
Located in North Hollywood, California, 11 NOHO contains units for low-income tenants.
The five-storey block is organised around a raised, central courtyard that was opened to the street with a large cut out made in the main facade.

Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture, Rwanda, by MASS Design Group
The campus of the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture in the village of Gashora is intended to serve as a model for sustainable land use and construction.
It contains buildings made of locally sourced materials, including a central, figure-eight housing block made of rammed earth.

Located in Chicago, the Damen Green Line Station replaces a formerly shuttered 1948 station, marking a renewed connection from the city's West Side to the surrounding areas and downtown area to the east.

The US Consulate General Guadalajara serves Mexican citizens seeking visas to travel to the United States.
It was designed to create "a welcoming environment that can help provide a sense of calm during what can be a stressful situation" according to the project's architecture studio The Miller Hull Partnership.

US Consulate General Hyderabad, India, by Richärd Kennedy Architects
Architecture studio Richärd Kennedy Architects was informed by the surrounding boulder formations and elevation changes for its design of the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, India, which it covered in an interpretation of a Jali screen to filter light and heat around the building.
