Adorn fabric by Designtex

Dezeen Showroom: US brand Designtex aimed to bring the artistic look of domestic textiles to the contract market with Adorn, a fabric with a rich, painterly pattern.

Adorn is a hard-wearing textile for upholstery in commercial environments, however its surface features a craft-informed design inspired by tapestries.

The pattern combines a delicate, watercolour-like background, made up of patches of different colours that appear to bleed into each other, with an overlay of tiny diamond-shaped embroidery details.

Each colour in the Adorn range is composed of nine different hues of yarn, giving it a complex and visually interesting appearance.

"Adorn allows users to delight in the small details and embrace maximalism," said Designtex.

The Adorn range is made in Italy at a dedicated mill, according to the brand.
