Jaguar's Type 00 concept car was filmed driving in Paris

Unveiled last December at Miami art week, the car drew global attention with some commenters calling it a "design triumph", while others described it as an "ugly, clunky behemoth".

The concept car was created as a preview of Jaguar's change in design direction, as the carmaker pivots towards being an electric-only brand.

"Type 00 is a pure expression of Jaguar's new creative philosophy," said Jaguar Land Rover chief creative officer Gerry McGovern at the launch last year.

"It has an unmistakeable presence. This is the result of brave, unconstrained creative thinking, and unwavering determination."

Pictures reveal the car's French Ultramarine colour

At the time, the car was shown in two colours – Miami Pink and London Blue. The Paris Fashion Week appearance added French Ultramarine to that colour range.

Jaguar was keen to express that the Type 00 is a concept car, with the video's caption stating "Type 00 is a non-production vehicle".

The Type 00 concept will be translated into a four-door sedan production vehicle that will be unveiled later this year, Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover told car publication Autocar last week.

The launch of the Type 00 late last year followed the brand's controversial rebrand, accompanied by an advert that was widely mocked for its lack of cars.

Jaguar described the rebrand as "unique and fearless".

"New Jaguar is a brand built around exuberant modernism," said McGovern. "It is imaginative, bold and artistic at every touchpoint. It is unique and fearless."
