Promotion: Dezeen is partnering with New York's International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) for the ninth edition of its Look Book design exhibition of curated products from North America.
ICFF, which takes place from 18 to 20 May 2025 at the Javits Center in New York City, is North America's premier event for contemporary design, offering international brands a gateway to the US market.
The event attracts top buyers, architects, interior designers and curators sourcing for residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
"ICFF is the global entry point for US and international brands looking to make product introductions and connections," said Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, brand directors of ICFF. "It's where design culture and commerce meet – and where business thrives."
At the centre of ICFF is WANTED, which aims to nurture creative leaders and support young talent through Look Book, Launch Pad, the Design Schools Workshop, and a dedicated Schools Showcase.
Dezeen returns to ICFF for their third year as the media partner for Look Book. More than 60 participants will show their work in this year's exhibition, a curated, in-person portfolio for members of the art and design community to connect with high-end North American designers, makers and entrepreneurs and source original designs for their next projects.
Look Book offers an opportunity to discover the diversity of the North American design and craftsmanship landscape.
The exhibition showcases design across the board – from furniture and lighting to textiles and collectable objects – highlighting the scope of contemporary creativity across North America.
This year's wide-ranging contributors include Brooklyn-based designer Anna Dawson, who creates collections of subtly swollen furniture.
Native Brazilian-Canadian designer Nayara Nascimento of Aeny Studio is showing her characteristic amorphous designs alongside other creatives including Michelle McLaughlin of Calyer Ceramics and John Born, whose studio Humble Matter produces smooth clay vases with intricate crackled patterns.
Also part of the line-up is Juntos Projects, the American furniture maker whose signature piece Arc Stool was designed with a "sensual" gently curved seat.
Cuff Studio of California is presenting neutral-hued furniture, while Nebraska studio Pax Lighting is also showing its fixtures.
Pennsylvania-based Ryan Twardzik of Unform Studio is exhibiting modular lounge seating with removable cylindrical cushions. Toronto studios Anony and Mary Ratcliffe are also on the roster for their distinctive lighting and furniture pieces.
Husband-and-wife team Viviane Hernandez and Armando Mora Medina of Design VA are featuring their trademark furniture pieces fitted with playful "feet", while Vancouver-based Claudine Gévry Studio is exhibiting its delicate mobile lighting informed by the style of late American sculptor Alexander Calder.
"Each year at ICFF, thousands gather to visit the fair's exhibitions and programmes to see what's new, fresh and upcoming in design and Look Book is a not-to-be–missed destination at the show," said Hainaut and Pijoulat.
From subtle and elegant to bold and bespoke projects, the 2025 Look Book exhibition will feature collections made from recycled plastic and curved and braided rugs to ceramic and glass objects.
