Flotex flocked flooring by Forbo Flooring

Dezeen Showroom: surfaces brand Forbo Flooring aimed to combine the durability of hard floors with the tactility of carpet in this flooring, which is decorated with digitally printed surface designs.
Flotex flooring is designed to look like a textile covering but be as functional and easy to clean as vinyl. It can also be decorated with a variety of digitally printed patterns.

Flotex combines a solid vinyl reinforced base with a flocked surface of nylon 6.6 fibres, which not only brings a softness into spaces but helps to create a calm environment by absorbing sound and capturing allergens and fine dust from the air.
A key feature of the Flotex product is its extensive customisability: Flotex is available in digitally printed patterns ranging from designs by Philippe Starck and Ettore Sottsass to work by the brand's in-house design team. There is also the option for users to develop bespoke designs.

The design team adds to the digital library every year based on Forbo's annual trend report, which this year saw them focus on the theme "Regarding Nature". The new additions include a bold graphic based on faceted stones.
Flotex comes in comes in sheets, tiles or planks, and Forbo recommends it for spaces such as offices, shops and hospitality venues.
