Flipster seat by Wigiwama

Dezeen Showroom: the latest and largest addition to Latvian brand Wigiwama's line of modular children's furniture is the Flipster seat, which can be used as a chair, lounger or play mat.

Designed in-house by product designer Mark Litvyakov, the Flipster seat is made up of four corduroy-upholstered polyurethane modules in geometric, Bauhaus-informed shapes.

The two seat cushions can be stacked to form a chair or laid end to end to form a lounger, while the two backrest cushions can be slotted together or pulled apart to support different sitting positions or to enable creative play.

The Flipster seat is an evolution of Wigiwama's Flip chair, and with its increased size and adaptability, it can be used by children up to 130 centimetres tall.

"We want to encourage children's independence by designing furniture that they can easily manage themselves," said Litvyakov. "That is why our pieces, including the Flipster, are lightweight and easy to move."

"It allows children to take charge of their space, rearrange it as they like, and create their own little worlds, encouraging both creativity and self-sufficiency."
