This lookbook spotlights eight tranquil bedroom interiors layered with unexpected yet balanced combinations of warm and cool tones.
Achieving a visually comfortable room temperature can be a challenge. Using too many warm tones can be overpowering, while going heavy on icy hues can make a space feel sterile and uninviting.
Mixing tones from opposite ends of the spectrum is one way to strike the perfect balance, giving rise to home interiors that feel layered, cosy and calm.
The eight bedrooms below illustrate this concept and some methods for achieving it, such as mixing woods and metals, creating backdrops and using neutrals to bridge the gap between warm and cool finishes.
This is the latest in our lookbooks series, which provides visual inspiration from Dezeen's archive. For more inspiration, see previous lookbooks featuring retail stores that make a statement with metal, kitchens with shiny polished concrete floors and living rooms with famous Togo sofas.
