Chinese tech company iKKO has unveiled MindOne, a compact smartphone with a flippable camera, two operating systems – one centred on AI – and free global internet that works without a SIM card or Wi-Fi.
Commenters weighed in on the device, with one calling it "nice ideas on paper, but ergonomically problematic". Another added, "about time we got something different – smartphone design has been stagnant forever".
Other stories in this week's newsletter that sparked debate include a controversial Vogue campaign featuring an AI model, Heatherwick Studio's redevelopment of a city block in Prague and a handheld device designed to provide comfort after pregnancy loss.
