Contemporary Room Dividing Screens by Fold Studio

Dezeen Showroom: Australian design brand Fold Studio has released a series of freestanding folding screens comprising hardwood frames stretched with fabric or woven cord.

Fold Studio founder and in-house designer Pauline Ollmann created the brand's Woven-Fold and Fabric-Fold collections, which share American White Oak, American Black Walnut or American Ash frames and raw brass hinges.

Woven-Fold was designed in collaboration with local master weaver Modanest, creating double-sided panels of Danish paper cord weave that come in neutral, black or white finishes.

"Danish paper cord weave is known for its durability, sustainability and lasting design aesthetic, adding tactility to commercial, hospitality, retail and residential spaces," said Fold Studio.

With Fabric-Fold, users can select from a spectrum of material options for the panels, from natural linens to rich velvets and textured bouclés, including plain or patterned, contemporary or classic, upholstered in a consistent colour or a variation to create a colour gradient, ombré effect.

Both styles come in various configurations, panels, heights, customised arrangements, colours, timbers, finishes and price points to suit individual requirements.

"Contemporary screens are not just functional objects, but are pieces of interior sculpture, solving the riddle of how we make our homes or offices spatially flexible," the brand continued.
